Layout principles
- Spacing: ceiling height divided by 2 (e.g., 9 ft ceiling → 4.5 ft on center)
- 2–3 ft from walls for general ambient
- Wall-wash 18–24 inches from wall for art or millwork
- One dedicated can over kitchen sink and island
Trim and color choice
- Smooth white trim for transitional homes
- Black trim for modern interiors
- 2700K for living spaces (warm, like incandescent)
